Todd L. Cecil, Ph.D., serves as Acting Director of the Office of Science and the Deputy Director of Regulatory Management in the Office of Science at FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products (CTP). As Acting Director of the Office of Science, Dr. Cecil is responsible for identifying, developing, and enhancing the science related to tobacco products, their use, and the resulting morbidity and mortality so that regulatory decisions will have the greatest impact on improving public health. As Deputy Director of Regulatory Management since summer of 2020, he is responsible for accessing existing scientific evidence and supporting new research to inform regulatory actions intended to protect the public health.
